Surventis Enhances Digital Color Matching with New LightAssist Functionality in Refinity

New functionality adds an intuitive visualization mode, making subtle color, texture and effect differences easier to identify and compare.

Accurate color matching remains one of the most critical and time-consuming steps in vehicle refinishing. While digital color retrieval solutions have significantly improved efficiency in body shops, assessing subtle differences in color, texture and effect can still be challenging, particularly when working with black and dark effect colors.

To help body shops manage the entire refinishing process more efficiently, Surventis provides Refinity, its cloud-based digital platform that connects products, services and business solutions in one ecosystem. Within Refinity, the Color module supports painters with color identification, retrieval and match evaluation throughout the color matching process.

Building on these capabilities, Surventis is now introducing LightAssist, a further enhancement to the visualization in ImagePLUS. LightAssist adds an intuitive visualization mode that enhances the visibility of subtle differences in color, texture and effect, making match candidates easier to assess and compare on screen.

By enhancing the visibility of these differences, LightAssist helps painters evaluate match candidates with greater confidence and make faster, more informed decisions. The functionality complements painter expertise and supports a more efficient digital color matching process.

“Every minute counts in today’s body shop environment,” said Steve Arndt, Executive Vice President Refinish Coatings at Surventis. “LightAssist turns complex color information into clearer visual guidance. It helps painters compare potential matches with greater confidence and can reduce unnecessary spray outs, material consumption and process time. As part of Refinity, it shows how we connect coatings expertise, digital solutions and data to help body shops improve performance and deliver high-quality repairs efficiently.”

Debuting at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026

LightAssist demonstrates how Surventis continues to expand the capabilities of its Refinity ecosystem by combining digital technology with refinishing expertise. Introduced at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, the new functionality is particularly valuable for black and dark effect colors, where differences in undertone, texture and effect can be difficult to assess using standard visualization methods.

Rather than replacing existing processes or painter expertise, LightAssist provides an additional assessment option within Refinity’s end-to-end digital color process. This helps body shops identify non-matching formulas earlier, make more confident match decisions and reduce avoidable process steps.
